Valid email address format

My Care Card checks the email address entered for users to make sure it complies to a valid format. Emails must follow the familiar addressname@domainname.xxx format. User emails must have the following characteristics or My Care Card does not save the user record:

• Contain fewer than 60 total characters

• Contain an "at" sign (@)

• Contain a period ( . ) after the @ sign

• Before the @ sign,capital and lower case letters (A-Z or a-z), numerals (0-9), periods ( . ), underscores ( _ ), percent signs ( % ), hyphens ( - ), and apostrophes ( ' ) are valid characters. All other characters are invalid.

• After the @ sign and before the final period, capital and lower case letters (A-Z or a-z), numerals (0-9), periods ( . ), hyphens ( - ), and apostrophes ( ' ) are valid characters. All other characters are invalid.

• After the final period, only capital or lower case letters (A-Z or a-z) are valid.
