Creating security profile groups
Security profile groups act as templates that apply security settings to users. Every My Care Card user must have a security profile group assignment to access the application. When a profile is assigned to a user, the user inherits the security settings from the profile. When the standard security profile groups provided with My Care Card do not satisfy your needs for set of users, create a new group to assign to users as needed.
Note: My Care Card can have a maximum of 10 security profile groups, including the five standard groups.
To create a security group:
1. From the menu, click Administration > Maintain Security Profiles. The Security Profile Groups page is displayed.
2. To change the hierarchy, click the Change Hierarchy link to display the Change Selected Hierarchy pop-up window. You then conduct a hierarchy search.
3. Click Add New Group. The new Security Profile Groups page displays, as shown in the figure below. The hierarchy node to which the new group belongs displays at the top of the page.
Note: You cannot use My Care Card to change a security group's hierarchy assignment.
4. In the Group Name field, enter a unique name for the new group. This name identifies the group when assigning user security to users. The Add Security Group Profile page divides My Care Card tasks into the following logical sections:
· Member Management-
Application features that let users work with member profile and purse information
· Card Management-
Application features that let users work with cards and authorized card users
· User Management-
Application features that let program administrators work with users and user access to My Care Card
· Transaction Management-
Application features that let users work with member transaction/authorization data including the ability to update substantiation status
· Report Management-
Application features that let users run analytical reports that present data from My Care Card
· Admin Tools-
Application features that let users verify cardholder registration information and manage healthcare options
5. Select the check boxes next to the tasks you want to assign to the new security group.
Note: If a task's check box is cleared, the security group is denied access to the task.
6. Click Save. A message is displayed at the top of the page informing you that My Care Card successfully created security profile group.
The new security profile group is displayed in the Security Profile Group list on the Add New User and Maintain User pages.
